  12.        _f_a_x_q_u_i_t    sends  a  message  to  a  _H_y_l_a_F_A_X  server process
  13.        telling it to quit operation.

  15.        If _m_o_d_e_m    is specified, the _f_a_x_g_e_t_t_y(${MANNUM1_8})  process
  16.        servicing  the  specified  modem     is  notified.    _m_o_d_e_m can
  17.        either be the name (typically the last  component  of  the
  18.        terminal     port the modem    is attached to), or the    full name
  19.        of   the      associated   FIFO   named   pipe   file,   e.g.
  20.        ``FIFO.ttym2''.

  22.        If no modem is specified, _f_a_x_q_u_i_t will send the request to
  23.        the ``FIFO'' named pipe file  causing  the  _H_y_l_a_F_A_X  queue
  24.        manager process to terminate.

  26.        Note  that server processes may not terminate immediately.
  27.        In particular the _f_a_x_q process will  not     exit  until  any
  28.        active  jobs  are  completed; this is necessary for proper
  29.        operation (_f_a_x_q must wait for child processes to    terminate
  30.        so  that     it  can collect their exit status and update the
  31.        state of    the jobs being operated    on).
